Changing Lives: The Impact Our NGO Is Having in India

Blog Article

India still has issues with women's empowerment, menstrual hygiene awareness, healthcare access, and educational inequity. Meeting fundamental needs is only one aspect of addressing these issues; another is bringing about long lasting change.  To close these important gaps, we at Spherule Foundation collaborate closely with local communities. We hope to empower people, increase awareness, and give them the resources they need to live independent lives through our projects throughout India.

Our Approach to Social Impact in India

Our work is focused on grassroots-level interventions. Each of our programs is designed with a community-first approach. We collaborate with local organizations, schools, government bodies, and corporate partners to deliver practical, outcome-oriented solutions.

Healthcare Initiatives: Building Access and Awareness

Many communities still lack access to basic health education and services. At Spherule Foundation, we implement healthcare drives and awareness campaigns that reach underserved populations.

Key healthcare activities:

        • Health check-up camps in urban slums and rural areas

        • Distribution of sanitary products, nutritional supplements, and hygiene kits

        • Awareness sessions on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention

One of our recent initiatives provided free health screenings to over 1,200 individuals in Pune’s low-income neighborhoods. These sessions included blood pressure checks, diabetes testing, and counseling by certified doctors.

Menstrual Hygiene Awareness: Breaking the Silence

Lack of menstrual hygiene awareness continues to affect education, health, and dignity—especially among adolescent girls in India. Our programs create open dialogue around menstruation to reduce stigma and increase awareness.

Program highlights:

        • Conducting interactive sessions in schools and communities

        • Distributing sanitary pads to girls and women in need

        • Educating boys and men to support menstrual health discussions

We have reached over 75,000 girls across India with our menstrual hygiene awareness program. In each session, we focus on practical solutions and build confidence among girls to manage menstruation safely and with dignity.

Women Empowerment: Creating Opportunities

At the core of our mission is helping women gain economic and social independence. Our skilling and livelihood programs offer practical training and resources so women can support themselves and their families.

Areas of focus:

        • Tailoring, computer training, and communication skills

        • Distribution of income-generating tools:

                • Sewing machines

                • Professional beauty parlour kits

                • Vegetable carts

                • Tiffin boxes for home-based food services

                • Flour mill machines

                • Sugarcane juice machines

                • Toy stalls

        • Mentorship and support for women-led micro-businesses

  • Case study:

In 2024, we conducted a large-scale distribution drive at Yerwada, Pune. Women received sewing machines, vegetable carts, tiffins, and beauty parlour kits. Each recipient also participated in skill training, enabling them to begin earning immediately.

Education: Making Learning Inclusive

We believe that education is the foundation of change. Our programs provide access to technology, digital skills, and career counseling—especially for students in under-resourced schools.

Our education initiatives:

        • STEM labs in government schools to promote science and tech learning

        • Career counseling sessions for students from Classes 6 to 12

        • Teaching Microsoft Office, Python programming, and basic IT skills

In 2025, we launched a computer education project at SNDT Kanyashala, Pune, with support from Jet2travel. The program trained 28 students in MS Office and Python, opening new possibilities for their academic and career journeys.

Long-Term Impact and Future Goals

Every project is designed for sustainable impact. We aim to scale our efforts by:

        • Partnering with more schools and vocational centers

        • Expanding access to digital tools and internet-based education

        • Increasing participation of local women in decision-making and leadership

Our work with corporate CSR partners like ZF Group, SMS Group, SE Freight and Logistics, and others has enabled us to broaden our reach and deepen our impact.
